David V. Whitaker, C.M.

With more than 30 years of senior management experience in the aviation industry, both airline and airport, domestic and international, David Whitaker utilizes his knowledge and expertise to help regions achieve their commercial aviation objectives.

David served as the Chief Commercial Officer for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority for over 20 years. He led the passenger and air cargo strategy for the region and was responsible for to the vast majority of airport revenue generating functions. During his tenure CRAA realized record passenger and air cargo volumes, record passenger satisfaction and spend, and significant growth of the destination network for Columbus.

David’s leadership helped create a global air cargo market in the Columbus Region. This effort generated sustained air service by premier commercial airlines to hubs around the world that continues to propel the Region’s economy today.

He is also recognized for his close work with businesses along with state and local leaders to double passenger volume in Columbus, including nurturing a start-up airline from scratch through highly successful launch. His commercial leadership has contributed to more than $1B in airport capital improvements.
